But once your AT HOME boxes of flowers arrive how should you arrange them? Below, our Creative Director Sue Barnes shares her tips for arranging flowers at home.
- The first thing to do when you open your flower delivery is to separate all the different types of flowers and foliage.
- If you don’t know about conditioning flowers, read the care cards that come with your flower delivery. Every single flower that you receive will have one explaining how to look after it, so you can build up your knowledge as you go.
- Start with the biggest vase that you’re using as it will use up the most flowers. Then you’ll be able to see how many flowers you’ve got left to fill up the other vases.
- Once you’ve chosen your vase, you want to look to double the height of it with your flower arrangement.
- Begin with the foliage. Always use a combination of three varieties, this will give a lovely natural look, as if you’ve just collected it from the garden.
- Clear off the leaves from the stems, chop the bottoms of the branches at an angle and if they’re thick enough split the ends to let water flow up it easily and give them longevity.

- Use groups of three or five flowers for your arrangement and work around the vase, this will give you a nice rounded shape.
- Once the vase is nicely full walk around it to make sure it looks beautiful from every angle.
