In May 2017, we had the pleasure of looking after the wedding of Olivia and Alex. This 3 day celebration of their relationship was unlike any other wedding we have ever been a part. Working with a dream team of suppliers, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a wedding that we, and the guests, will never forget!
Friday Night – for the ‘Italian’ feast the night before the Wedding, we created the feel of dining in a lemon grove in Tuscany; surrounding Olivia and Alex and their guests with huge, fragrant lemon trees in wicker baskets. Table decor consisted of mismatched Anduz pots full of lemons, figs, artichokes, Lavender and trailing Jasmine, scattered with nightlights and iron candlesticks, running the full length of the table.
The Church – classic, romantic and elegant! Guests entered through a stunning floral arch into a Church that surrounded them with flowers. Every design was overflowing with Roses, Peonies, Astilbe, Phlox and Delphinium, each sensitively created for its environment whilst providing the most beautiful backdrop for the ceremony.
Drinks Reception – To not give the game away with the designs for the main marquee, the drinks reception was more natural and foliage led with the festoon lighting draped with Ruscus garlands, clusters of potted plants like Philodendron and Kentia palms lining the outskirts of the marquee and copper geometric lanterns filled with succulents and ferns.
Marquee – soft tones of blush pink, pale grey and rose gold were used throughout with lashings of Peonies, Roses, Astilbe and Hydrangeas providing a feeling of pure luxury where it was clear that every little detail was thought of and considered, ending in the ultimate wow factor. We created three different table centres to add interest and texture to the space; stunning tall rose gold candelabras wrapped with a garland of flowers and tall rose gold stands overflowing with flowers added height to the room whilst the low designs consisted of clusters of rose gold containers each filled with a different flower in soft pink hues and ivory. We designed and built tree like structures to wrap around the downstruts of the marquee, removing any ounce of severity and bringing the outside in for a softer, more intimate feel.
Sunday Brunch – the idea was to create a relaxed vibe and atmosphere, keeping it natural but still impressive! To ‘WOW’ the guests, WOWGrass covered the entire marquee floor with real grass, which made the marquee feel like a continuation of their luscious garden. Long tables were draped in foliage garlands of Olive, Eucalyptus, Asparagus Fern and Ruscus, that trailed down to the grassed floor with beakers of flowers interspersed.
